I guess I’ve been tagged by Carol at Alabama Improper for this Christmas Meme (sorry, Carol, but I had to look that word up :-) ) Here are the rules:

Ok, this is how it works: The player (me) must list 3 things that I would love to get for Christmas. Then I must list 3 things that I definitely do not want to get for Christmas. Then I tag 5 friends and list their names. The one I tag needs to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes then tag 5 more people. They must also clarify all the rules. When you tag someone you need to leave a comment that says “you’’ve been Christmas tagged!” in their comments and tell them to read your blog. Ok everybody..

OK, I’ll play along:

Want to get:

  1. New tires — I need ‘em and I just had a flat yesterday!
  2. An mp3 player/cell phone
  3. Springfield Armory Model 1911 in 9mm (stainless steel please)

Don’t want to get:

  1. The flu — I’ve had 3 sick kids all of this week!
  2. Another death in the family…
  3. the singing fish — please no, not that!

Ok, now… who to tag:

  1. American and Proud (update: used Robert old address, corrected now)
  2. Gunz and Ebyjo
  3. Jarhead John
  4. Hillbilly White Trash
  5. Amy Proctor from Bottom Line Up Front. (and because I’m special, I get 6)
  6. Caroline in the City (just because Sniper One wouldn’t :-) )

Update: Caroline has refused my offer to participate saying “sorry don’t play with idiots”

TAG — You’re it!

Ebyjo, the kinder, gentler half of Freedom, GUNZ, Glory and EBYJO, has a link to a wonderful web site. Please click the following link to send a word of praise and thanks to our American troops. They’re doing their duty to God and their country — you can surely spend 2-3 minutes to tell them thanks!

Click here –> Lets Say Thanks!

Update: and a BIG thanks to Xerox for sponsoring this web site!

Remember Our Fallen Heroes

An idea popped into my otherwise empty noggin this very morning. Why don’t we do a Project 2996 type of salute to the approx. 3,000 fallen heroes?

What do you think? I participated in the 2,996 Project because I wanted people to put a face with the event. Most of those innocent faces were your average John and Jane Doe(s). How about we put a face to the 3,000 who died actually fighting for our freedoms??

What do you think?

Give me feedback…

Remember Pearl Harbor!!

It’s been more than a month since my last post, but I cannot, in good conscience, let this day pass without making note of it.

Pearl Harbor was a defining moment in American — no, correction, in World history. I believe that The 9/11 Attacks are a milestone event similar to Pearl Harbor. I believe the men and women fighting the War on Islamic-Fascism are as motivated and dedicated to their cause as the men and women of the military after Pearl Harbor. What is different in the civilian population. In World War II, the “masses” wanted blood. They wanted victory — NO, They Demanded VICTORY over our enemies. In this century, however, the masses aren’t moved to support the defense of Freedom and “Our leaders” are motivated by self-serving political agenda.

The Sheeple have been institutionalized in to believing that “we’re all the same on the inside” — while that ideaology helps defeat racist attitudes in the world, it does not apply to this war. Evil exists!! Just try telling Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims or a concentration camp survivor that “we’re all the same inside”. Evil exists and it’s not only telling us that we’re going to lose this war, but it’s giving us the proverbial middle finger while doing so.

Meanwhile, back in the United States, The Sheeple go about their merry way, thankful that the troops will be coming home soon…

Look at these posters from W.W. II and notice the stark difference between then and now. The mantra of the days was Work, Fight, Sacrifice!

I see very little of it in today’s society. Alas, at least The Greatest Generation’s sacrifices gave us 60 years of relative security. Perhaps the next attack on American soil will awaken the masses…

Remember Pearl Harbor!!
