More Violence in Lebanon

Did you realize that more than 60 Palestinians have been killed in Lebanon since December? At the current pace, the total will be 720 in 2007 — nearly as high as the 821 American soldiers killed last year in Iraq! Shouldn’t Congress send a non-binding resolution to Israel to stop the violence??

What’s that you say?? Israel is not involved?? It is actually the terrorist group Hamas fighting the terrorist group Fatah!

According to that bastion of international news integrity, CNN, there have been 29 Palestinians killed in fighting in the last 4 days. Surprise, surprise, — Saudi Arabia has offered to mediate the conflict! Given that the Saudi Wahhabites are, at some level, likely pulling the strings behind both of these terrorist gangs, it doesn’t seem far-fetched that the Arabs can resolve the infighting and return to killing innocent Jews and Americans.

A Vote Against Victory

Posted on January 29, 2007 by ProphetJoe.

This is an open letter to our elected representatives in Congress:

Dear Senators and Representatives:

We The People of the United States of America do not want war. We do not want a war in Iraq. We do not want a war in Afghanistan. We do not want a war with Iran, nor Syria, nor Lebanon. We do not want our courageous young mean and women in the Armed Forces killed, injured, or scarred by the horrors of war. We are a peaceful nation — wanting only to exercise our personal freedoms, and to pursue our individual dreams, without government oversight, religious mandate, or international interference.

Some of us voted for George W. Bush and some of us did not, but we are all unhappy with the current state of affairs. Too many Americans have lost their lives on foreign soil because of the way this war has been managed. On these things, I think, all Americans can agree.

Let us now discuss 4 items on which we do not agree:

1) There are those among us who believe the Unites States should not be supporting Israel. I am incredulous at this position. Israel is the only participant in the Middle East who has consistently supported U.S. interests there. They have repeatedly shown their willingness to negotiate with their adversaries. They have granted Arabs unprecedented access to Islamic holy places within the occupied territories and they, like we Americans, want to peacefully coexist with their neighbors — they are not on a theological quest for world domination. Furthermore, they are, religiously speaking, the closest “relatives” we have in the region. I find the concept of not supporting Israel totally unacceptable, both morally and politically.

2) There are those among us who believe that the world in general, and the United States in particular, are less stable and less “safe” now than before the Global War on Terror began. They directly attribute this notion to America’s military participation in the War on Terror and directly blame George W. Bush for the situation. These American Blamers, however, cannot reconcile one simple, yet formidable, fact: since our military involvement in the War on Terror, the U.S. has not been attacked on our own soil. Although more than 3,000 soldiers have been killed overseas, there have not been any attacks here at home. The strategy is working — take the fight to their homeland and our shores will be safer.
3) The American Blamers also condemn U.S. foreign policy as being oppressive in the world and biased against Muslim interests, which (they say) fosters anti-American sentiment. We’ve all heard, or read of, some celebrity, politician, or academic who points to the events of Sept. 11th, 2001 and say that it was the result of American aggression and influence. These American Blamers say that the attacks were not only predictable, but that they were not unreasonable, nor unprovoked. To these American Blamers I say “Bull shit”!

First of all, radical Islam has been conducting anti-non-Muslim military and terror campaigns for centuries as a matter of religious dictate. America has only existed for little more than 200 years and has held superpower status for only the last 60-70 years. While America has had a history of interfering with foreign governments during that time — a fact we cannot deny — we can honestly say that America has, more often than not, extended a helping hand to those in need of food, medicine, shelter, or protection. America has freed more people from the shackles of oppression, and provided more immigrants with greater opportunities than any other nation in the history of the world. To say that “America deserved to be attacked” is not only self-serving, and morally repugnant, it is intellectually and historically dishonest.
4) There are those among us who believe that America should make peace with the Islamic nations in the Middle East. There is nothing we Americans would like more than to peacefully coexist with our global neighbors, but the radical Islamic Fascists of the Wahhabite sect are not interested in peaceful coexistence, nor honest negotiations. Their religious dictate is to eradicate all non-Muslim society. That means all Jews, all Christians, all Buddhists, all wiccans, everyone. This is a threat to not only America, but every non-Muslim culture and nation in the world. You can call it Evil. You can call it Fascism. You can call it fanatical. Hell, you can even call it Religious Diversity if you please… but it is a real threat and you had better deal with that fact! Remember, peace is NOT the absence of war. If you learn nothing else from history, you should know that fact!
On these 4 points, We The People of the Unites States of America, seem to disagree. I don’t know why we disagree. Many of us find these points to be self-evident, but the talking heads of the main stream media, the celebrities of Hollywood dream factory fame, and the academics of modern institutional indoctrination and education, do not agree.

Obviously, they pale in comparison to the elitism of being a member of Congress. But you have a unique opportunity. You can send more troops to the Middle East. You can send a message to not only America, but to Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Israel. You can decide to save western civilization by reducing this threat now or you can take the politically correct path. In short, you can vote to Support The Mission or you can Vote Against Victory. Think about how will history remember your actions.

An American Princess and Roe v Wade

E.M. over at The American Princess has this wonderful post about abortion and the Roe v Wade decision and its impact on society. Here is just a tidbit of the post:

One in four children conceived since 1973 has perished in an abortion–25%. If 25% of children were dying in any given third world country, Angelina Jolie would be crying on the steps of the UN and George Clooney would be begging for intervention. If 25% of any given generation were meeting its fate at the blade of a knife, they would be making documentaries, signing petitions and supporting passage of needless Congressional bills to save them. But because our society views abortion as a convenience and not as a destructive force, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Diane Fienstein, among others, feel confident that they are not in complete contradiction for touting their own uteri as magical decision-making devices, and yet supporting the near-remorseless disappearance of perhaps 25% of the next generation of women, maybe more, since generally, 1% more girl babies are born than boy babies.

Great stuff — now go read the whole story and tell her “6pence” sent you!

Mr. Bush’s War

For all of the liberal spin about “Bush’s War”, Jarhead John and Amy Proctor have posts about Mr. Clinton’s War. Perhaps a little historical perspective is in order for the sheeple:

October 31, 1998

clinton_sad.jpgSTATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT
THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
October 31, 1998
STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

Today I am signing into law H.R. 4655, the “Iraq Liberation Act of 1998.” This Act makes clear that it is the sense of the Congress that the United States should support those elements of the Iraqi opposition that advocate a very different future for Iraq than the bitter reality of internal repression and external aggression that the current regime in Baghdad now offers.

Let me be clear on what the U.S. objectives are: The United States wants Iraq to rejoin the family of nations as a freedom-loving and law-abiding member. This is in our interest and that of our allies within the region.

The United States favors an Iraq that offers its people freedom at home. I categorically reject arguments that this is unattainable due to Iraq’s history or its ethnic or sectarian make-up. Iraqis deserve and desire freedom like everyone else. The United States looks forward to a democratically supported regime that would permit us to enter into a dialogue leading to the reintegration of Iraq into normal international life.

My Administration has pursued, and will continue to pursue, these objectives through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The evidence is overwhelming that such changes will not happen under the current Iraq leadership.

In the meantime, while the United States continues to look to the Security Council’s efforts to keep the current regime’s behavior in check, we look forward to new leadership in Iraq that has the support of the Iraqi people. The United States is providing support to opposition groups from all sectors of the Iraqi community that could lead to a popularly supported government.

On October 21, 1998, I signed into law the Omnibus Consolidated and Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act, 1999, which made $8 million available for assistance to the Iraqi democratic opposition. This assistance is intended to help the democratic opposition unify, work together more effectively, and articulate the aspirations of the Iraqi people for a pluralistic, participatory political system that will include all of Iraq’s diverse ethnic and religious groups. As required by the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for FY 1998 (Public Law 105-174), the Department of State submitted a report to the Congress on plans to establish a program to support the democratic opposition. My Administration, as required by that statute, has also begun to implement a program to compile information regarding allegations of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes by Iraq’s current leaders as a step towards bringing to justice those directly responsible for such acts.

The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 provides additional, discretionary authorities under which my Administration can act to further the objectives I outlined above. There are, of course, other important elements of U.S. policy. These include the maintenance of U.N. Security Council support efforts to eliminate Iraq’s weapons and missile programs and economic sanctions that continue to deny the regime the means to reconstitute those threats to international peace and security. United States support for the Iraqi opposition will be carried out consistent with those policy objectives as well. Similarly, U.S. support must be attuned to what the opposition can effectively make use of as it develops over time. With those observations, I sign H.R. 4655 into law.

WILLIAM J. CLINTON

THE WHITE HOUSE,

October 31, 1998.
